According to a report, the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE might be released in worldwide markets shortly. While the Chinese smartphone maker has yet to officially reveal the handset's specifications, the incoming gadget has just been detected on the IMEI database with model number 2209129SC. According to a rumor, the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE might be a rebranded version of the Xiaomi Civi 2, which was released in China last month. The Xiaomi Civi 2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC and has three back cameras, including a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor.

According to IT Home, the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE has appeared in the IMEI database with the model number 2209129SC. According to the rumor, the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE would be released as a rebranded version of the Xiaomi Civi 2. It is likely to become official by the end of October.

The Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE has already appeared on certification websites such as the FCC, IMDA, and the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). For the next smartphone, the FCC filing proposed three configurations: 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. According to the ad, the phone will also have 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, and NFC connectivity options. It is expected to run MIUI 13, which is based on Android 13.

It's worth mentioning that Xiaomi has yet to make a formal statement about the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE's release.

The Xiaomi Civi 2 was released in China last month, with prices starting at CNY 2,399 (about USD 330) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant.

The Xiaomi Civi 2 has a 6.55-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,400 pixel) AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC and can accommodate up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM. Other significant specs of the device include a triple back camera arrangement led by a 50-megapixel primary camera, 32-megapixel twin selfie sensors, and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The Xiaomi Civi 2 comes with a 4,500mAh battery that supports 67W rapid charging.
